April 24, 2020 - It was announced that an emergency field hospital for coronavirus patients would be built at the former Homebase store - instead of an arena - because transmission rates were "lower than expected".
The NHS facility was originally proposed for the Westpoint exhibition centre, but the smaller site was deemed adequate.
The move "would be a better use of resources", the NHS said.
