Whimple Cricket Club has introduced live-streaming for matches thanks to sponsorship from Timewade, a South West-based IT solutions provider.
The club has installed Frogbox, a cutting-edge streaming system used by cricket teams across the UK. The technology integrates with Play-Cricket to offer real-time scoring, match statistics, and live coverage on YouTube.
Timewade’s support has enabled the club to expand its digital capabilities, allowing families, fans, and coaches to follow matches remotely. The sponsorship builds on the firm’s earlier backing of Whimple’s women’s team, including the provision of branded shirts and squad development support.
Julian Wills, CEO of Timewade, said: “Grassroots sport is at the heart of local communities, and we are proud to support Whimple Cricket Club in their efforts to grow and develop. The introduction of live streaming will enhance the club’s ability to connect with players, families, and supporters, while also serving as a valuable coaching tool.”
Whimple Cricket Club Chairman James Woollam added: “Live streaming is becoming more common at local clubs, and we are delighted to now have this feature at Whimple. It’s not only great for family and friends to be able to watch the games remotely, but video footage can be a great tool for coaching players at all levels. We are immensely grateful to Timewade for their support.”
The system will be used across home fixtures from junior to adult level, improving visibility and engagement for the East Devon-based club.
