The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has welcomed Professor Sallie Lamb to its Trust Board as a nominated non-executive director from the University of Exeter.
Professor Lamb, a distinguished academic and healthcare leader, currently serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Exeter.
Since 2019, she has also held the Mireille Gillings Professorship of Health Innovation.
With a background as a physiotherapist in the NHS, Professor Lamb transitioned into medical research at the University of Oxford, where she played a key role in advancing clinical trials.
Throughout her career, she has focused on strengthening clinical research within the NHS, particularly in intensive and emergency care, surgery, and rehabilitation.
She is also the Director of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Exeter Biomedical Research Centre, a partnership between the Royal Devon, the University of Exeter, and other NHS Trusts across the South West.
The centre is dedicated to accelerating the development and implementation of new medical treatments in the NHS.
Dame Shan Morgan, Chair of the Royal Devon, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating:

Professor Lamb joins the Trust Board for an initial three-year term, bringing a wealth of expertise and a strong commitment to improving patient care through research and innovation.
