Skipton Building Society is celebrating 30 years in Exeter with the relaunch of its city-centre branch following a major refurbishment, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the community.

At a time when many financial institutions are closing branches, Skipton has invested in a full branch transformation, ensuring it continues to support customers with modern, in-person financial services.

The refurbishment includes upgraded transaction counters, private consultation offices, and a welcoming waiting area.

“We’ve seen many changes over the past 30 years, but our commitment to Exeter remains as strong as ever,” said Branch Manager Emma Smith. “We’re proud to continue serving the community and helping people reach their financial milestones.”

As part of Skipton’s commitment to sustainability, the renovations incorporated LED lighting, energy-efficient heating, and improved insulation to reduce environmental impact.

While the branch was temporarily closed for 10 days in October 2024, most work was completed outside business hours to minimise disruption for customers.

To mark the official reopening, Emma Smith was joined by InExeter CEO Nicola Wheeler and special guest Harry Burfitt, one of Exeter’s longest-standing Skipton members at 93 years old, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Skipton Building Society invites the Exeter community to visit the newly transformed branch and explore the enhanced facilities designed to support their financial future.
