An intriguing new networking event that redefines how businesses are brought together has been launched in Exeter.
JR Shout Out events are a new type of networking that brings businesses, influencers, entrepreneurs, and creatives together over important causes.
These gatherings aim to foster genuine connections, promote good causes, and build a supportive community across local and national regions.
A spokesperson described them as “networking with a difference," as all profits from the events, which combine comedy with networking, are donated to local charities.
JR Shout Out events were launched in Torquay and Exeter by John Ross, and its first ever gathering took place this July at Exeter Phoenix.
It was reportedly a success, with delegates connecting over breakfast rolls, coffee, and comedy courtesy of stand-up comedian Tank Sherman.
They also heard about the vital work done by Libraries Unlimited and Devon Air Ambulance (DAA), two local charities that benefit from the events.
John said: “I wanted to create networking events that went beyond skin deep and enabled people to connect in a more meaningful, inspiring, and caring way, building long-term connections where people really can buddy and mentor each other as well as do business AND share lots of laughter! A real fusion of shouting out great causes, businesses, creative talent, and comedy.”
Pippa Craddock, Director of Business & Marketing Solutions, added: “I attended the first Shout Out Exeter event, and what a great way to start the day! This is a totally fresh format for business networking.
“It was great to connect with like-minded people, meet new and existing contacts, and hear about the amazing work of the headline benefiting charities. I went back to the office feeling really inspired and motivated to tackle the day’s to-do list. I’m really looking forward to the next event. If you want a different type of networking event and to start the day with a laugh and a smile, then I would give a JR Shout Out event a try.”
JR Shout Outs will run their events quarterly, from 8am until 10am.
The next event will take place on Thursday, October 10, at Exeter Library.
Tickets cost £10, and all profits will be donated to DAA and Libraries Unlimited.
You can book tickets and find out more information on their website.
