Yesterday morning marked a significant moment in the history of the Devon and Plymouth, and Exeter Chambers, as their respective memberships and boards agreed to unite and form the Devon Chamber.
At simultaneous meetings in Exeter and Plymouth on Thursday, September 12, both organisations unanimously agreed to merge and form a new umbrella organisation, offering all members expanded access to the resources businesses need to thrive.
By bringing together both organisations, Devon Chamber will provide more networks, services, and opportunities for businesses across the region.
The Plymouth and Exeter Chamber Boards will remain in place to ensure that they continue to provide support locally as well.
This merger is an exciting time for the local business community, as the Chambers look to create a more powerful voice for Devon businesses, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Exeter Chamber continues to support Clear Sky Publishing’s Exeter businesses magazine, Exeter Tomorrow, and is now offering members a free copy of its quarterly print edition.
Chris Coward, Founder and Managing Director of Clear Sky Publishing, said: “We are delighted to be a member of the extended Chamber. It can only be good news for businesses in Devon.
