Ten new jobs created at Marine AI

The rapid growth of Exeter Science Park-based company Marine AI has led to the creation of 10 new high value jobs for the area.

Marine AI specialises in artificial intelligence software designed to enhance maritime capabilities both above and below the water.

Its smart computer systems analyse data from sensors, cameras, and other sources to make decisions and assist in various tasks while at sea, including detecting and avoiding obstacles, optimising routes to save fuel, or aiding tasks like docking or manoeuvring in tight spaces.

The company currently has 25 employees based in its Exeter and Plymouth offices and it anticipates hiring a further 10 people over the next 12 months, most of whom will be in Exeter.

And it has recently moved to a larger office at Exeter Science Park to accommodate its growth.

“In addition, being based at the Science Park supports our recruitment aims, placing us closer to the University of Exeter and its talented graduates.”

Marine AI is a subsidiary of Plymouth based MSubs, which itself is a subsidiary of US based Submergence Group, which designs, builds and operates leading-edge submersibles and underwater systems primarily for the US and Royal Navy. Among Marine AI’s UK projects has been the design and implementation of the software deployed on Mayflower – the autonomous vessel which successfully crossed the Atlantic in 2022. www.mas400.com
