Rosie with her Mum Sue
Rosie Hydar has gone from classrooms to caring after launching a new business addressing the demand for in-home support in Exeter and its surrounding areas.
Motivated by personal experiences caring for her father and husband, both battling Parkinson’s disease, Rosie noticed a gap in consistent quality care services.
“After teaching across the world, we decided to move back to the UK to be closer as a family,” explained Rosie. “With my experiences in education, I would say I’m a very caring and nurturing person, so the care industry was a natural fit. I’m still looking after someone’s important person, just at different stages of their lives.
"I was determined to provide a solution for the local community and Hub Care Support offers exactly that. People know what they want and when they want it, they just need a little help being heard.”
Hub Care Support Exeter offers personalised support by connecting service users with dedicated Personal Support Assistants (PAs) from a vetted register. This approach allows individuals to choose the perfect match for their needs, ensuring consistency and quality. All PAs are QCAS approved, DBS checked, trained and insured to work in the UK.
“I wanted to have a place where my family could all be together as before we’d had periods where we’d all been separated across different continents,” said Rosie. “One of my children was a student at Exeter University, so we knew it was a great place to put down roots – plus I’m from Penzance so the west country feels like home.”
Launched in January, Rosie has ambitious plans for the future.
She added: “I really want to create a hub for the community. My mum, Sue, started to feel isolated when caring for my dad so having a place for people to go to be social is a real benefit and something I’m looking forward to.”
