September issue of Exeter Living out now!

Welcome to our September issue, out now!

As we wave goodbye to festival season, we usher in a new – and bulging – season of culture. And boy, there's a lot to look forward to. Top of our list is Exe Men, the play adapted from Robert Kitson’s much-loved book about the rise of Exeter Chiefs. Just how are they going to stage a play about rugby? We spoke to screenwriter Ashley Pharoah of Life on Mars fame and creative director Martin Berry to find out – turn to page 14.

For more theatre, head to page 20 for this season’s highlights. And for even more cultural picks, turn to page 23 – including our ‘7 Deadly Sins’ interview with comedian Helen Lederer ahead of her appearance at Budleigh Literature Festival this month.

With thoughts turning to all things cosy – it being autumn and all – we dive into the latest interiors trends on page 56, pore over rich russet hues on page 8 and tuck in our napkins for warming recipes and a chat with a Dartmoor chef on page 30, who’ll be cooking up sticky toffee pudding and the like over the next few months.

Elsewhere, we’ve got the lowdown on women’s cricket in Devon (spoiler: it’s booming), the coolest and quirkiest wedding venues, and jewellery that’s making serious moves. And if you're in need of a local getaway to spark a bit of joy, check out for four incredible – and luxuriously dreamy – treehouses to escape to.

Enjoy!
