Today is the first day of events for the Taste East Devon Festival, running Saturday, September 14 until Sunday, September 22.

The food and drink festival is back for its fourth year, bringing together some of Devon’s best producers, chefs, restaurants, and venues for an exciting and varied calendar of events.

Many events have sold out already; however, you can check the remaining availability on the festival’s website

Farm2Fork, an organic farm in Budleigh Salterton, will feature in the festival on Saturday, September 21, with a tractor and trailer tour with Farmer Ollie to meet their pasture-raised animals.

Ollie, a fourth-generation farmer with a wealth of experience, will explain the benefits of the regenerative farming methods that shape Farm2Fork’s ethos.

“Organic and regenerative farming is not just a method; it's a commitment to the health of our soil, our animals, and our community—it's farming that works with nature, not against it,” Ollie said.

“Regenerative farming means we’re not just sustaining our land; we’re actively improving it, building healthy soils, enhancing biodiversity, and ensuring a better future for our environment.

“Organic and regenerative farming practices allow us to produce the highest-quality food while protecting and revitalising the natural ecosystem. It’s the future of farming, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

The farm also has an onsite farm shop, which sells fresh produce seven days a week.

After the tour, attendees will enjoy a Taste of East Devon BBQ featuring meat from the farm, prepared by two guest chefs.

Sam White is an executive chef at Fortnum and Mason, and James Whetlor is an acclaimed BBQ chef and author.

Ollie added: “I’m really looking forward to opening up our farm gates for the Taste East Devon Festival—it's a chance to share what we do with our local community and celebrate the incredible local food and farming scene.

“I’m excited for people to experience firsthand the joy of being on the farm, meeting our animals, and tasting the delicious food that comes from our organic, pasture-raised practices.”
