Today marks two weeks until The Exeter Independent Market returns to Cathedral Green for the final time this year.

The market features a diverse array of items crafted by some of the finest makers and traders in the South West.

You can explore handmade crafts, clothing, accessories, locally produced food and drink, and one-of-a-kind vintage treasures.

Local businesses and independent sellers had positive things to say about their experience at the previous independent market, which took place on Saturday, August 10.

Olly and Carrie from the North Devon bespoke furniture and home decor brand, Mackie Wood Co, said: “It is a vibrant and friendly market that is well organised and managed, which showcases a variety of high-quality artisan goods.

“It is a beautiful location to hold the event. We will definitely be attending more!”

Cheryl and Mark, owners of the Tavistock-based Moorwishes Happy Art, shared similar sentiments: “We have really enjoyed showing and selling Cheryl’s original paintings and hand embellished prints at the Exeter Independent Market. It provides such a great venue in the heart of the city for both locals and visiting tourists to get a taste of what’s available at the Moorwishes gallery & shop in Tavistock.

“This month it was also extra special to meet some of the visiting choir from Georgia in the USA who had been performing at the cathedral and were so keen to buy Moorwishes art with the musical manuscript and sparkle included! Happy art for a happy home in Exeter—or further afield!”

The final Exeter Independent Market of 2024 will take place on Saturday, September 14 between 11am and 4pm.

Visit Exeter Cathedral's website for information on how to attend the market as a trader or busker.
