I hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. It’s been good to pause for a moment and reflect on the season so far, which has gone pretty well, I’d say, with an initial eight wins from eight games, putting us second from top of the league.

And although we didn’t make it to the next round of the Women’s FA Cup, we were pleased with our strong performance against higher league opposition Cheltenham, which showed off our talented squad.

We’re great advocates for our sport, so we were really pleased to see the launch of another session which enables women to play football – women’s walking football. Thanks to the hard work of Gillian Burgess, and designed for older women, the women’s walking football group she established has now transitioned across to Exeter City and the players will wear the badge of which we are all so proud.

The group trains at Crealy and offers the chance to play competitively, or for fun. You can find out more about it on the Exeter City Community Trust website at exetercct.org. We’ve been thrilled with the crowds at our games at Exwick Sports Hub, with more than 275 people attending some of our games. To everyone who comes along and supports both our women’s and men’s teams, thank you so much for your commitment over the year, it is hugely appreciated. Our next games at the Hub are against Southampton Women on January 14 and Abingdon on March 24.

We’ve also got the big build up to the game against Maidenhead United on March 10 which takes place at St James Park and promises to be a fantastic match, as we head towards the end of the season.

Look forward to seeing you at a game soon – you can find all of our fixtures here:
