Police have identified the human remains found on the North Devon coast in May 2025 as belonging to Ryan Miller from Barnstaple.

Ryan, aged 44, was reported missing in April that year.

Human remains were then found at both Westward Ho! and Appledore on May 22.

Devon & Cornwall Police said Ryan’s family were made aware of the subsequent identification.

In October the force confirmed the remains belonged to the same man and said his family had been informed, but told the Gazette as the death was not being treated as suspicious, they would not normally release the name.

An inquest into the circumstances surrounding Ryan's death will follow in due course.
