Brixham Coastguard and Torbay Inshore Lifeboat helped reunite a dog with its owner after it became stranded on rocks in Brixham Harbour.

On Sunday evening at 6.54pm, the rescue team was called following reports of a dog stuck near the marina pontoon. On arrival, the Alsatian, later named Rocky, was found shivering on the rocks.

To ensure a safe recovery, Torbay Inshore Lifeboat was called in. The team secured Rocky and brought him ashore, where he was later identified via social media reports as a missing dog.

His owner said: “I really can’t thank the team enough. I’d not had him long and he’s usually on a lead in the garden. This time he jumped the fence, and it all happened so quickly. Thank you for finding him and bringing him home.”

Mike Good, who helped rescue Rocky from the rocks, added: “He was a very friendly little dog. Once I got him onto the boat he laid in between my legs before we got him safely into our boathouse.”
