Price drop announced for new Exeter apartments
McCarthy Stone has announced new reduced prices at its Foxglove Place development in Cullompton, making retirement living more affordable for older people in Devon.
The UK’s leading developer of retirement communities has cut prices by over 10% on selected two-bedroom apartments, bringing starting costs down to £250,000.
The offer applies to a limited number of properties at the purpose-built development for over-60s, located just off Willand Road.
The move is part of a wider initiative by McCarthy Stone to support older residents whose current homes may no longer suit their needs. The company says downsizing into more suitable, supportive environments like Foxglove Place can boost wellbeing, improve safety, and free up larger homes for families in the area.
“We’re committed to making the benefits of retirement living more accessible than ever before,” a spokesperson said.
Foxglove Place has already proved popular since its launch, offering 43 one and two-bedroom homes with access to communal lounges, landscaped gardens and an on-site House Manager. All properties are fitted with security systems and a 24-hour emergency call line.
The development is within walking distance of Cullompton High Street, with easy access to local shops and transport links. Nestled in the Culm Valley, it also offers residents scenic surroundings and a strong sense of community.
According to McCarthy Stone, retirement communities can also help ease pressure on health and care services. A recent Homes England study cited increased happiness, satisfaction and wellbeing among residents in purpose-built retirement housing.
The company has received the Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation every year it has taken part in the national survey.
