5 fun things to do this weekend in Exeter: music, comedy, LEGO, film, and art

Looking ahead to the weekend? There's a lively mix of events around Exeter this weekend, from music and comedy nights to creative workshops and family-friendly activities. Enjoy!

1. MUSIC
28 February
Silenzio and The Night
Head to record shop-meets-music venue 12 Bar Music & Social on Paris Street to catch Silenzio and the Night, a six-piece from Bristol performing their debut album, The Harmonic Pull. Blending drums, percussion, bass and guitar with cello, violin and vocals, they create a distinctly cinematic sound - described as English, eccentric and wistful, and unafraid to drift into the unexpected.

2. COMEDY
1 March
Pierre Novellie: You Sit There, I’ll Stand Here
Co-host of the BudPod podcast with Phil Wang, and seen on World’s Most Dangerous Roads (Dave), South African-born British comedian Pierre Novellie brings his sharp wit to Exeter Phoenix this Sunday at 7.30pm.

3. PLAY
1 March
Lego drop-in Session
This relaxed, fortnightly LEGO drop-in at Exeter Library makes the library’s LEGO collection available in the café/foyer for building, playing and getting creative with fellow enthusiasts. Suitable for all ages and abilities - from families to adults - it’s a great opportunity to collaborate on big builds, browse the catalogue of instruction manuals or simply do your own thing. Held every other Sunday from 12 noon to 3.45pm.

4. EXHIBITION
On now until 24 May 2026
Grayson Perry: Aspects of Myself
Celebrated contemporary artist Grayson Perry is known for his sharp, insightful explorations of what it means to be human, tackling themes of identity, gender, social status, sexuality, religion and politics with honesty and wit. This exhibition - his first ever at the RAMM - invites visitors to explore the idea of self through Perry’s distinctive storytelling and diverse use of media. Highlights include A Map of Days, which maps personal traits and emotions onto towns to create an emotional geography of modern life, and ceramics such as Aspects of Myself and Mad Kid’s Bedroom Wall, which reflect autobiographical moments from Perry’s own childhood.

5. FILM
On now
If I had Legs I'd Kick You
As her world begins to unravel, Linda (Rose Byrne) struggles to cope with her child’s unexplained illness, an absent husband, a disappearance and mounting tension with her therapist (Conan O’Brien). Witty and emotionally impactful. Multiple showings on both Saturday and Sunday at Exeter Picturehouse.
