5 fun things to do this weekend in Exeter
This weekend sees a flurry of festive activity in and around Exeter. Here are our top five picks.
1. Christmas at Cotley Farm
Throughout December
At Cotley Farm in Whimple, the resident reindeer live happily in the fields all year round, coming into the barns only at Christmas. Visitors can now stop by to say hello and even feed them with their favourite treat - special lichen from Norway.
While you’re there, warm up with a toasted marshmallow, a cosy hot chocolate, or a slice of homemade cake - and pick up seasonal goodies at the farm shop.
2. Icescape Westpoint
11 December - 4 January
The ice rink returns to Westpoint Arena for Winter 2025! With room for up to 400 skaters per session, there’s plenty of space to glide, spin, and embrace the festive spirit on the ice.
A wide range of sessions caters to all ages and skill levels, including Parent & Toddler Sessions, Quiet Sessions, Friday Night Disco Sessions (for adults only!), and 2-for-1 Thursdays.
3. Exmouth Christmas Market
13 December - 17 December
Visit The Exmouth Christmas Village for a festive market inside a cosy marquee, featuring over 80 stalls with gifts, crafts, and food. Stop by The Jingle Inn for a seasonal drink while you're there. This weekend, there'll be live performances from LaLa Choir, Video DJ Danny, and the Exmouth Town Concert Band.
4. Love Actually
13-17 December
An all-star cast weaves together this bittersweet tangle of love stories set against a London Christmas. Emma Thompson brings the gravitas. Various times at Exeter Phoenix.
5. Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market
On now until 19 December
Pop in for a mulled cider, pick up some Christmas pressies, and try some of global street food. This is the last weekend of the Christmas Market.
