Torquay’s Offshore Bar honoured for raising thousands for RNLI

Offshore Bar and Restaurant’s Brett Morton honoured for years of support as 2026 event returns for a full weekend

A Torquay harbourside bar and restaurant has been officially saluted by the Royal National Lifeboat Institute after raising thousands of pounds for the local lifeboat.

Torbay RNLI was delighted to present an RNLI engraved Memento of Appreciation to Brett Morton of Torquay's Offshore Bar and Restaurant.

Over many years, Brett and the Offshore team have hosted events showcasing the best of the bay’s food, drink and live music offerings whilst raising funds to support the work of the Torbay RNLI lifeboat station and its volunteer crew.

Last year's Offshore & Bays Festival event alone raised over £9,000.

Brett received the memento in recognition of his support from Richard Fowler, Coxswain, along with Debbie and David Phillips, Torbay RNLI’s Torquay Ambassadors who coordinated last year’s event on behalf of Torbay RNLI.

Brett and the Torbay RNLI team are now busy planning this year’s event, taking place in a little under two months’ time over two days – May 9 and 10 – on the Banjo in Princess Gardens, Torquay.

Over 4,000 people flocked to the event last year to enjoy live music, local food and drink.

Event planner Brett Morton said: “We are absolutely blown away by the support shown by both locals and visiting tourists.”

He said at the time that the RNLI was keen for them to expand the event to the whole weekend next year, and that’s exactly what they have done.

Organised by the award-winning Offshore team and supported and sponsored by Bays Brewery, the festival also benefited from the support of Torbay Council and seed funding from the English Riviera BID Company.
